Teradata Visual Explain is a graphical analysis tool for the Teradata Database that helps developers and DBAs understand and tune SQL performance. Developed by NCR, it interprets EXPLAIN output and, when available, information from the Query Capture Database (QCD) to render step-by-step execution plans. The tool highlights access paths, join strategies, data redistribution, spooling, and estimated row counts and costs.

Users can drill into each step to view operators, involved tables and indexes, and resource estimates, making it easier to identify bottlenecks, data skew, or inefficient operations. By visualizing how the optimizer executes a query, Teradata Visual Explain supports targeted performance tuning, validation of statistics and indexing choices, and faster troubleshooting. Part of the Teradata Tools and Utilities suite, it provides an intuitive interface for optimizing queries and improving workload efficiency on Teradata systems.

Teradata Visual Explain is developed by NCR and is used by 1 user of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 3.3, 3.4, 12.0, 13.0 and 13.1. The name of the program executable file is Vecomp.exe. Works with vec file type.
